David's Future Plans and English
When I studied in university, I made a plan for my future, and this plan gots more clear last year, after I'd finished my project.
My mid-term plan is this. After finish this session of SAL, I am going back to Korea to be a soldier. and then, 2 years later, I will get a job in global real estate company or developer company like CBRE or COLLIERS. At there, I will improve my 'Field Experience' and English Communication Skills with my co-worker for 2~3 years, and then I will leave to achieve my mid-term goal.
My mid-term goal is to study in HBS or SLOAN. The former is the MBA school of HAVARD, and the latter is one of the MIT in Boston. The reason why I hope to study there is that both have a great and famous course of real estate area. If I graduate from any one of both above successfully, I can make my dream which is to be a great developer and investor comes true.
So, to achieve my goal, I need to improve my english skill in oral and writing, and which is the reason why I am here, SAL.
For my plan, I will stay at USA for 1 year and from now on I have been here for 3 months. There are two main reasons for me to Saty in USA. The fieat reason is to improving my English skills. I am a intellectual property reseacher in Taiwan, after this 1 year I will go back to my original job. Improving my Englih skill, inclouded speech and written skill, will help me to researching more intellectual property subject around natons.
Another reason for me to been here is that I already worked for 2 years, and I do want to take a rest throuth going some place that I had never been during my twentys.
This is my plan to studies after SAL program.
I was staying at SAL programs until English academic writing improved. After that, I’ll be moving to studies Master at Academy of Art University in San Francisco on next year. Because,My Major is Fashion Merchandising,they usually English writing academic influence for communications. In that programs, I will have studied on next 2 year later. Exactly, my other goal's, I will have starting company business fashion,by Merchandising major. So, that is reason for focus during studied on SAL English writing programs.
I worked at Trade Company before I study in SAL. I found my English not enough to provide for job. I make a short- term plan for myself last year. I expect one year to study about English skill and method. I think English writing and oral are very import for me. When I worked at company, I reply e-mail to customer every day, and I need to talk with customer fluently, after I finish this session, I will go back my country and prepare IBT. In future I want to study about financial class in U.S. I know it study English don’t have shortcut, can only step by step. This is reason why I studied in SAL from foundation.
My name's Linh. I have been living US about 1 month. Actually, I haven't finish the plan for my future. But I have a plan for next year. First of all, I have to finish my SAL course with high mark. I think this is the most important thing for me to apply to any university or college which I like. Second, I have found the informations about my favorite branch. I like chemistry but I have not decided but I will by the end of this year. Now, I just focus on my knowledge about English include writing, listening, reading, speaking. In my opinion, writing is one of the most difficult skills. I will try my best to write whatever I can. After finishing one paragraph I will have more experience to improve my writing ability. Furthermore, I can learn more vocabulary.
Now, my plan is that i can go to the college as soon as possible. I study here, i think sal can improve my english. And the when i finish two-year college, i will transfer the university. Those are my plan when i am in us.
Jerry's Plans for Future
My plans is that I am planing to take a Master degree in the United States. I want to improve my English writing skill for GRE, TOEFL-iBT and writing a thesis in the future. But I haven't decided yet that which university I want to study in. I just study hard to improve all of my English skill in SAL now.
I'll go to my home country after I finish my ESL course.
After that, I want to work in mechanical's business field. Almost of mechanical's business field need to fluent English's skill. So, I'm studying English right now. If I am best businessman, I'll meet many people all over the world. So, English's skill is essential. When I keep in touch another people, I have to use E-mail or sending invoice. And I want to get a good score at TOEFL. So writing's skill is very important for me.
I choose SAL to improve my English because of the favorable language environment. In the US, I can not only get familiar with the American culture, and also can communicate with the native speaker for improving my oral English.
After I finished these courses I will take the TOEFL and GMAT test again and achieve the admission requirements, in order to pursuit of the master of business administration degree at San Jose State University. I will dedicate myself to the Sino-US trade after I earned my MBA degree because China has the great potential to develop. Shanghai world expo 2010 will offer more opportunities for my career.
Hi everyone this is Terri. I would like to share my plan for self-development with you guys!
To be honest with you, my english level is very low as I came form Hong Kong. Most of Hong Kong people they can using English very well either reading, writing and specking, but I only can do simple writing and pronunciations. I understand that my chief defect is weak in English.I don't want this flaw in my life anymore, so I have the determinations to overcome that.
Actually there are thousand and thousand ways to study English. You can reads English news at home, watches English TV program or movie everyday, communicate with other people in English. However, I have chose to leave my county and came over here for study English. Because I think living in the bubble is the best way to learn foreign language. For improve my writing skill, I try to do some writing everyday with complete sentences and construct them in a full paragraph. I believe that is the one of step to conquer English!
I want to take a master degree in USA for HRM(Human Resourse management). It's part of Business but it is deferent with MBA.
I will take a GRE and TOFLE test so I must improve my English. Actually I can study English in Korea but as soon as possible I want learn culture and improve my English not for Tofle test. That's why I came here. I weak of vocabulary so I will commit to memory by repeated reading and try to writing assay twice a week.
Passing over the GRE and TOFLE test, that will help to wite a doctoral dissertation.

I am Tho Lac. When was I studying master in Taiwan, my professor told me education system of American was very good. In America Buddhism, though, was not too much, but there were a lot of people liked to research about buddhism, and many universities of American to have Buddhism programs, he said. And then, I had dreamed to go American to study PhD. I finish MA in 2003 Taiwan after I had came back Viet Nam and done something about my temple for few years. Last year, I began to bring my dream about to America to study. Now I am trying to learn English at SAL. There are many English professors in the SAL who both finished MA or PhD about English program and have skill for teaching more years. They always teach us a lot of skills about Toe-fl test, especial writing skill that is a very important program for my studying in the future. So I am trying to study English right now, and hope soon to pass the Toe-fl test. I am looking forward to helping from professors.This is plan to study in America.
