week 8
This week in our grammar book we are working on modals. Write about a job that you have had in the past or would like to have. What skills and qualifications are necessary and desirable for this job. For example, I was a bartender while I was in college. A bartender must be willing to work with the public. Sometimes people are mean, irritable and drink too much. They can be difficult and require a lot of patience from the bartender. Also, a bartender needs to be in good health. They are on their feet for many hours. It's an exhausting job. A bartender never is allowed to sit down. A bartender can make a lot of money, but the work isn't easy.

Before I answer your blog, can I ask you it is true you were a bartender before?
Before I came American, I was a teacher in Vietnam Buddhism University. At that time, I taught about Buddhism and Chinese. It is a very interesting job. I think specialty, method and responsibility these basic elements that can make a teacher to get successful for teaching. The specialty is the most important for teaching. The specialty that might help the teachers have more confident and successful when teaching and also is not easily confused by some questions from their students. In addition, the teachers also should be to have more skill for teaching. The good method may make their students easily understand and active studying. The students are going to become boring if they do not understand or ineffective while studying. The responsibility is also one of all factors able to make the teachers to become successful for teaching. A lot of teachers always say: “teaching no have problem, but correcting the papers have problem”. The correcting the papers is able to spend too much time from the teachers, so that might demand the teachers more patient and responsible having for their teaching. Therefore, above all such as specialty, method and responsibility are these basic elements that can make a teacher to get successful and happy for teaching. I am trying to learn more bout them from American teachers. These may be to have helpful for my job in the future in Vietnam.
Before I came here, I was a research analyst in Beijing. Actually, I worked at korean asset advisors company, but I was detached to Beijing, China. What a research analyst do is that searches and collects informations and data, and analyze it. It seems to be kind of simple. But this job needs many metal and physical labors.
One of the necessary qualifications is a high ability of the logical thinking. If they collect many data, they should study it, and write the report for client. At this step, analysts should be able to analysize the data and find out solutions or some conclusions from it thinking logically. This work needs too much time, so many anlaysts cannot fall a long-time sleep. Sometimes I worked until the sun raised.
Another of the qualifications is stamina because of hard working. This high-stress job taxes their energy. In many case, they work until 10 or 11 pm, so good stamina is required for them.
This job is very hard working.
I was an accountant of an engineering company before I reached U.S. My work is granting Taipei and Shanghai both sides of the wages per month. Calculating of the wages includes basic salary, subsidy on business and overtime pay. It is a very general thing to work overtime in the engineering company, though Taipei and Shanghai have already stopped for two days in week. People are regular to work overtime on vacation, so I always spend long time to count this part. Besides, granting of the wages. I have to grant payment for goods at regular time every month. There are a lot of small-scale companies of Taiwan. They usually don’t have enough working capital. There are always withdraws deposit very early when company grant the payment for goods. Also, I need to turn in financial analysis for president every month. In addition, a meeting is fixed and held on monthly first week Friday within my job. The meeting begins from 6 pm until tomorrow morning. It makes me mad. I dislike this part in my job even hating because time over 12 pm I can’t concentrate on anything. This job doesn’t have more challenge but you need more patience.
I want to be a business man who agent American brand luxury car and villa and sell them to China. There are three qualifications what I believe are very important to be a business man are sociable, knowledgeable, and team-oriented. First, sociable will play an important role in my business life because I can meet potential customers at social occasions such as special clubs, meetings and banquets. According to talk with each other, I can know their needs, favors and habits about my products. Secondly, I must know how to get agents. For example, I negotiations with American companies and show my abilities to sell the luxury cars and villas. So, it is very helpful for my future profession if I have the internship experiences in the sales field. In addition, ability of team-oriented is very important to approach my goal. I should know how to manage a team and how to train the salesmen of my team have a team spirit. Corporation is significant for teamwork. Therefore, I must have these three qualifications which are sociable, knowledgeable and team-oriented for my future job.
I worked as a producer that make DVD for process of a movie's production as soon as I graduated university. It was very excited to me. I could meet many famous movie actors. I sometimes knew their individual life. My job is required three important elements.
At first, Producer handle with camcoder because they have to film related people of a movie like director.
one of another ability is editing skill. producer use editing program that called Premire. Of course, producer can use program. Indeed, they need to have sense of editing. In my case, I spent many times for editing when I worked as a producer. I sometimes spent three hours or more for only a minute's editing. For sense of editing skill, producer watch many movies.
The most impotance for Producer can think many things for a product. Producer can't make a lot of money and required strong physical energy, but producer's products remain forever.
Before I came to the United States, I was a program director in a pay-TV company. My duty involved programming and news production of the business channel. A program director has to cooperate with sub-editor, anchor and audio operator for on-air presentations. I need a high level of concentration all the time as I am the last gate-keeper preventing any mistakes going on live. Program director is a really stressful job but I think it is more exciting then other jobs, such as administrative jobs in an office.
I worked at a tax accountant office for part time almost two years before graduated university. We helped private companies and incorporated companies to adjustment of accounts and tax works. People who work at there have to learn about accounting and should familiar with tax and accounting package soft-wares. I am able to use accounting package soft-wares and I studied accounting and tax law in University. However, the tax law is changing on every year and some special time so I have to study at that time. Actually there are special educations at that time for tax accountants and I could get new information from there. First time I worked an office, I just could do easy works like copy, input the client’s data into the program and sundry errands. A few months later my manager was allowed to work client companies’ adjustment of accounts and tax works. At the beginning, I made many mistakes and I have to need many times for solving problems. After that I am used to working and I can solve quickly and correctly. Every tax season is really busy like the corporation tax, the income tax and the valued additional tax seasons. We have to work over night at those seasons because clients give the data late (after they did settlement of accounts). Miraculously we finished works before the deadline even though clients gave the data two days before. Actually those happenings really make me crazy because to need more time than two days but randomly happened.
Before I came to the United States, I had serviced in the military for 11 months. It was a difficult job that most men who live in Taiwan need to do. People who want to service in the military need a strong body because they have a lot of hard work and training. You need to suffer that training that is like in the hell to be a soldier. The second ability is strong mind. The soldiers suffer a lot of pressure to protect their country. If they do something wrong, in the easier case, other soldier need to spent more time or money to fix that. The money all comes from ourselves. In the worst case ,they may kill themselves or other people. In my opinion, servicing in the military is a tough job.

I want to have a job in bank. I like to work in the bank. So i want to study finace. When i have enough exproence, i will work in the company. Before i come the us, i don't have any job. I think most of chinese student have no work. I like to work when i am student, i think that will be fun. maybe to work in the bank need high education. So i come the us.
