Why did you choose your major or career? I choose to be an ESL instructor for several reasons. I was involved in training and education in another field unrelated to ESL. I wanted to join my interest in teaching with my interest in international studies which was my major in college. My husband and I were living in Puerto Rico at the time, and we were going to be moving to South America. I realized that teaching ESL to adults was the perfect combination of my interests and skills. I love my job!

I was working at a trading company in Taiwan and doing the international business affairs. Because I studied at the university in Japan, so I could use the languages for work. Although I used the Japanese for most of the time, but still have to deal with other customers from all of the world. I found out that my English is not good enough for the business field, therefore, I decided to came here to enhance the ability of the language.
I have worked in the real estate area for a half year in Beijing, China. I really loved and enjoyed that job at the time. I am going to do this job continuously. There are several reasons why I choose a real estate as my career.
First, my major in college was the urban management and regional economics. During my undergraduate working, I learned about urban planning and real estates. My graduation thesis was also about real estate policies of government. My major in college made me understand the real estates area more.
Second, I am a only one who studied urban management and real estate in China as a foreigner as undergraduate major. Indeed, my class-mates and I were first graduates of our major in China. According to the vast scale of urbanization in China, I believe our potetialities will get other's attentions more, in particular, from relevant companies and academic areas.
Finally, I really love every kinds of buildings, such as houses, hotels, high-ends offices and retails. When I worked, I really enjoyed studying other famous real estate project which was successful.
For these reasons above, I choose the real estate as my major.
Before I came the United States I was a Buddhist monk, Buddhism teacher and one of educational managers of Vietnam Buddhism congregation. Wanting when my toefl pass I will apply to study Buddhism in University of the West in south California. There are several reasons for my choosing about the major Buddhism. First of all, Buddhism’s knowledge’s can strengthen my ideal. Buddhist monk is my own choice, so I want really understand and apply it in my daily life, and also hope finding out benefit from Buddhism. Secondly, the knowledge also supports my teaching in the future. Because I will continue teaching about Buddhism in Vietnam after I finish in the USA, so the knowledge will indeed helpful for my job. Moreover, the knowledge is useful for my managing in the future, too. While I study Buddhism in the University, I also will learn more about their educational managing methods. The education and educational management’s ways these will really support for my managing in the future. Above all, these reasons are cause for my choosing about the major Buddhism studying in the United States.
I worked in financial department in Taiwan. The first reason was my major in related field in college. I was interested to count the number and balance the books. I got sense of achievement if I did it. Second, I was able to contact with people from different departments when they applied for expense of business trip. They usually shared what special things happened on trip and what they think about life. As a result, they widened my views. Finally, I wanted to learn more knowledge. I could ask questions and discussed with officers and colleagues, so I knew more solutions .I also got some useful information from Banks. Therefore ,I chose the career.
After I had finished my undergraduate study and earned economics bachelor degree in this July, I came to U.S in order to get a Master degree in two years. My major is international business. There are two main reasons results in my choice. Firstly, I am interested in business field. I think my father affects me. He is a dealer who agent American brand products and sell them to some Asian countries. He often teaches me about business knowledge such as management and negotiation. When I was a junior student, I use to do some business such as sell the gift card and get sponsorship for the activities of my department in university. I can not forget how excited I was when I earned the first pot of gold from selling the gift card of the pizza hut. Secondly, after the financial crisis, the policy of insist on expanding domestic demands contribute to the Chinese economic growth. I believe this is not only challenge for the export business but the opportunities for import business. The Shanghai expo in 2010 also can provide more opportunities for my profession. Above all, the interests and the opportunities is the cause of my choice.
I chose computer science for my major for several reasons. I studied in an Institute of technology. My major was electronic engineering. When I studied there, I realized that I am interested in programming. With this in mind, computer science was the major that I chose in college. Another reason is that I found programming is a challenge. I real like to face the challenge and find a way to solve it. Therefore, I chose computer science for my major.

I worked as a DVD director as soon as I graduated from Uuniversity. My job was unrelated my major. However, I always enjoyed my job. I like that handle with video camera. I recorded many people that was realted movie like carmera, lighting, music, art, C.G. It was excited because I could hear many story about movies. One of another reason was for my dream. At that time, I wanted to be a famous Director. I needed some career about recording and editing So, I chose my job.
I was worked the Embedded System software engineer. Because I just want to be the real engineer. Actually, some engineers don’t have a development work. Their job is just management or supervision. Of course, management is important. However, in my opinion, development or research is the most important job then management. The development & research is very hard job. I always worked lately, and even I didn’t go to vacation. However, when the project was finished, the achievement is really great. Especially, when my products are showing on the store, my feeling is getting more awesome. Therefore, I love my job.
My first bachelor degree was majoring in multimedia and I am going to study a secondary bachelor degree in fine art. I decided to study in an undergraduate program again mainly because I believe that creativeness is based on knowledge. I believe I have to build up my foundational knowledge before I can create my own works. My previous undergraduate program focused on technical issues instead of theories. Besides, I am interested in traditional art very much. I hope I can create some art works which can fusion new media art with traditional art in the future.u
I worked the marketing business Pepsi cola Thailand, so I would like to change my career to fashion business. Because of, I liked fashion clothes and owner business brand name. I was graduate business bachelors degree, and I didn’t enough knowledge to practices a new thing. A result of reason came to America; my goal is improve English and studies new career.
Before I came the U.S, I have worked at internet advertising agency in Tokyo. I have worked as Planning and Sales for 4 years, then as Human Resource Manager for 1.5 years. The first job had told me how to make an advertisement plan by using internet media, and how to decide adverting message and sales target. The second job also told me how to make an advertisement for University students, and how to edit in-house magazine. Both jobs were very interesting for me, and I was really enjoyed my work. They helped me to have more interest in creative job such as drawing and designing related. Thus, I decide to focus to drawing and designing as my job. In addition, as we know, California has many advanced companies such as Google, Apple, and other IT companies. So I think I can get novel opinion and idea through learning in this area. These are the reason why I choose my career.
Now i have no major and career. But i want to study finance. i like finance, because my two cousin also study it. And they also have exprience about it, so i want to study it. And i also want to study mba, i think i also like it. But sb tell me that is a little bit dificult. So now i am thinking which major i will choose.
